Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 August 2026
This privacy policy describes how Dejtingvanor.se collects, uses and protects information when you take part in the survey about dating habits in Sweden.
Summary: Your survey answers are anonymous and are not linked to you. If you voluntarily provide an email for follow-up, it is stored separately from your answers.
1. Who is responsible for the processing?
The data controller for the processing is the independent project behind Dejtingvanor.se. Contact details are at the bottom of this page.
2. What information do we collect?
Survey answers (anonymous):
- Your answers to the survey questions (age, gender, region, dating habits, experiences)
- Timestamps for when the survey was started and finished
- Technical information about device type (mobile/desktop) to improve the user experience
Email address (optional, separate):
- If you indicate at the end of the survey that you want updates, we store your email
- The email address is stored separately from your survey answers, without a timestamp - we do not link them
- We also store which language you answered the survey in (Swedish/English), so we can get in touch in the right language
- We use the email only to contact you if the project moves forward
Information we do NOT collect:
- Name or national identity number
- IP address or precise geographic location
- Information from cookies for tracking or marketing
3. Why do we collect this information?
We collect information to:
- Understand how people in Sweden experience dating today
- Identify patterns and challenges
- Decide whether there is a need that justifies building something
Legal basis: The processing is based on your consent (Article 6.1(a) GDPR), which you give by voluntarily taking part in the survey.
4. How is your information protected?
We take the following security measures:
- Survey answers are stored on secure servers within the EU
- All data traffic is encrypted via HTTPS
- No link is made between survey answers and identifiable information
- Only the project team has access to the raw data
- Data is not stored longer than necessary
5. How long is the information stored?
Survey answers are stored for as long as necessary for the survey, but no later than 31 December 2027. After that date, all raw data is permanently deleted.
If you provide an email address for follow-up, it is stored separately from your survey answers. We only contact you if the project moves forward. You can ask us to delete your email at any time.
6. Is the information shared with anyone?
We never sell your information.
Information may be shared in the following cases:
- Aggregated insights: We may share aggregated patterns (e.g. "40% experience X") and individual de-identified quotes from free-text answers - but never anything that can be linked to a person.
- Technical providers: We use services for web hosting and data storage that process data according to our instructions and GDPR.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the following rights:
- Right to information - You have the right to know how we process your data.
- Right of access - You have the right to find out what data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification - You have the right to have incorrect data corrected.
- Right to erasure - You have the right to request that your data be deleted.
- Right to withdraw consent - You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Important: Your answers are saved continuously as you fill in the survey (that's what lets you pause and continue later) - always anonymously, without any link to you as a person. You can stop at any time by closing the survey; answers you have already given may then be included anonymously in the analysis. Because everything is anonymous, we cannot identify or delete a specific individual's answers afterwards.
8. Cookies
Dejtingvanor.se only uses technically necessary cookies to make the survey work (e.g. to save your place in the survey if you want to continue later). We do not use cookies for tracking, marketing or analytics.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy. In the event of material changes, we will inform you on the website. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
10. Complaints
If you believe we are processing your personal data in violation of GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY):
